On Feb 18, 2024 RFRI deployed 22 truckloads of Christmas trees in Fountaineblue State Park. Since 2020 the RFRI has repurposed discarded Christmas trees. The disposal of these trees takes up valuable space in landfills. As an alternative to disposal, the Christmas trees have been utilized for coastal restoration and fish habitat.
