The I-10 Twin Span Bridge is a 6 mile long causeway known to locals as the “Twin Spans.” Consisting of two parallel trestle bridges, the twin spans cross the eastern end of Lake Pontchartrain in southern Louisiana between New Orleans and Slidell. Severely dammed in 2005 by hurricane Katrina, the Twin Span bridges were re built and re opened on July 9, 2009.
