Fishial Fish ID Challenge



Anglers, RFRI has partnered with the Wye Foundation on the Fishial.AI Fish ID Project with the goal of making highly accurate fish identification "Fishial Recognition" possible. We are currently about to accurately identify over 100 species, help us get more!
This open-source image database will allow researchers worldwide to use the fish images in solving fisheries science-related issues. If you’re interested in joining the RFRI team, please download the Anglers Almanac App (See below) and click of fish recognition and start taking photos. You will be automatically entered into the challenge.
- The challenge consists of uploading and processing as many fish photos as possible via the Anglers Almanac App (see species list below).
- The Contest is free of charge and open to the general public.

Coastal: Spotted Seatrout, White Seatrout, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Southern Flounder, Tripletail, Tarpon
Snapper: Red, Lane, Gray/Mangrove, Vermilion, Yellowtail, Cubera, Mutton, Queen
Grouper: Yellowedge, Snowy, Warsaw, Red, Yellowfin, Gag, Yellowmouth, Black, Scamp
Migratory: Wahoo, Dolphin, Amberjacks, Cobia, Grey Triggerfish, Scamp, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel
Tunas: Yellowfin, Blackfin, Bigeye, Bluefin
Billfish: Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish
