Blueline Tilefish

This species of tilefish has a grey to olive back and a silvery white belly.  They also have a touch of blue on the fins and a body that dwindles in size towards the tail.

Blueline tilefish prefer muddy bottom in water 400 to 600 feet deep.  They are known to burrow into the mud and wait for passing food.

Normally caught deep-dropping with electric reels, they will take a variety of dead bait that is normally fished on weighted rigs with multiple circle hooks.  They can also be caught on jigs if you can get them to the bottom in preferred depths.
